Glentoran boss Warren Feeney hails capture of ex-Ballymena United captain Josh Kelly

Glentoran boss Warren Feeney has hailed the signing of midfielder Josh Kelly.

Kelly arrives at the Oval following four years with Ballymena United.

The 24-year-old previously played under Feeney at Ards, and the Glens manager believes Kelly will "prove a very good signing" for the club.

Feeney told Glentoran's website: “Josh will prove a very good signing for the club and I’m very pleased to have him on board. I had Josh at Ards and I know he’s a very mature person and player.

"He’s very experienced for a 24-year-old, he’s been a captain in the Premiership here, is a very confident and reliable player and he knows the league very well. He’ll be a great addition to the squad and I’m looking forward to enjoying working with him again.”

Kelly started his Irish League career with Ards before signing for Ballymena in 2019. During his time at the Showgrounds he played a pivotal role in the Sky Blues reaching three Irish Cup finals.

He captained the Sky Blues last season, scoring six goals in 41 appearances for the Braidmen in 2022/23.
