Glentoran head coach Mick McDermott has urged the football community to "stay connected" as fans deal with the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

The Oval boss issued a message of support to everyone dealing with the ongoing threat of Covid-19.

With many people isolating in their own homes, McDermott says the current crisis is a "time for unity".

In a message shared on Glentoran 's official Twitter account, McDermott said: "We are in unprecedented times.

"This is a time for unity, albeit without contact. And although we can't gather, we have to remain together.

"Stay connected, pick up the phone, call your family and friends.

"The Glentoran community are in our thoughts, the football community are in our thoughts. And all the people in this country are in our thoughts.
