Glencairn aim for Lanarkshire derby Champions Cup final by dumping out Auchinleck Talbot

Rutherglen Glencairn boss Willie Harvey is targeting a Champions Cup Final spot - if their Auchinleck Talbot semi-final clash survives the weather.

Airdire juniors Gartcairn have already booked their place in the final after their win over Lanark and the Glens can join them with a win over the Ayrshire visitors.

Now gaffer Harvey is looking to join them in front a big support at the Celsius Stadium.

Harvey revealed there will be a 10am pitch inspection today but gives the game a good chance of being on.

"We're hopeful that we can get the game on and we are preparing for it be going ahead," Harvey told Lanakshire Live Sport.

"There should be a good crowd coming up that Talbot always bring so we're hoping for a good game and a good atmopshere.

"We've been a bit stop-start with fixture call-offs but we believe we can get a result."

With the club missing another game last weekend against Largs Thistle, Harvey was quick to clear up any financial concerns.

He added: "The club is financially sound and we have been able to pay the players.

"We are impacted by a tight budget, but so is every junior club at this time of year. We are no worse than the others."
