Glen v Kilmacud: All-Ireland Club Final to be replayed after CCCC delivers ruling

The GAA's CCCC has ordered a replay of the All-Ireland Club SFC final between Glen and Kilmacud following Monday night's hearing.

The clubs will now have three days to appeal the verdict with speculation the game could be played as early as Saturday, February 11.

The original game, which took place on Sunday, January 22, resulted in a two-point win for the Dublin side.

However, in the immediate aftermath of the game, questions were raised about extra players on the pitch for the final passage of play.

Subsequent footage showed Paul Mannion was inactive as he was making his way off the pitch, yet Dara Mullin was on the goal line as Kilmacud defended a late ‘45 from Danny Tallon.

The Maghera men failed to find the net with their last attack as Conleth McGuckian’s shot flashed narrowly wide.

After the GAA stressed they wouldn’t take action without an appeal, despite past precedents, Glen lodged an objection against the result last Tuesday night.

Over the weekend, Kilmacud confirmed they have submitted a counter-objection amid reports suggesting the Stillorgan outfit have no interest in replaying the game.

A date for any potential replay could be complicated further as Glen midfielder Emmett Bradley is due to get married next weekend while the Allianz Football Leagues are also under way.

Both clubs have the option of taking a further appeal to the Central Hearings Committee and, after that, the DRA (Disputes Resolution Authority).
