Between Twisters, Chad Powers, and The Running Man, Glen Powell has been having a moment these past few years. And now, we know that we won’t have to wait long to see him on the big screen again.
On Thursday, A24 announced that Powell’s next movie has a new title and release date. Previously titled Huntington, the film will now be known as How to Make a Killing, and will be released in theaters by the studio just a few months from now, on February 20th.
How to Make a Killing is written and directed by John Patton Ford and based on Robert Hamer’s 1949 British crime movie Kind Hearts and Coronets, which is itself based on Roy Horniman’s 1907 novel Israel Rank: The Autobiography of a Criminal.
The cast of How to Make a Killing also includes Margaret Qualley, Ed Harris, Jessica Henwick, Zach Woods, Topher Grace and Bill Camp. It will star Powell as Becket Redfellow, who has been cast aside by his phenomenally wealthy family and will go to any lengths necessary to ensure his inheritance.
“There’s going to be a new title that we will probably be debuting here in the next few weeks,” Powell recently told The Hollywood Reporter of the film. “But the movie is fantastic, and John Patton Ford is a great filmmaker. I can’t wait for people to see it.”
How to Make a Killing has gone through quite a few title evolutions since its script first hit the Black List in 2014, and was known as Rothchild at that time. It is one of the latest in a string of adaptations (or attempts at adaptations) of the original film and novel, including the 2013 Tony-winning musical A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder. That level of history, combined with Powell and the A24 brand, could mark something wild.
