Remember that glorious sunshine and scorching temperatures we were enjoying yesterday? It suddenly feels like a lifetime ago...
In case you haven't looked outside, today's weather is the very definition of miserable. We've got everything from grey skies to heavy rain - and even some thunder and lightning.
The Met Office's forecast for this evening reads: "Showers extending to most places this afternoon and evening, some heavy and possibly thundery."
And while we hate to continue with the bad news, it looks like this weather isn't going anywhere.
Over Friday and Saturday, we were treated to an unexpected return of summer, with temperatures reaching highs of 23C - unheard of at the end of September!
However, for the week to come, it's back to business.
There is a chance of rain every day for the rest of this week - and the rest of this month is due to remain temperamental.
The Met Office long range forecast states "Rain and strong winds will spread eastwards across the UK on Thursday, with gales possible in the north and west.
"It will stay unsettled for the end of September, with a mixture of some sunny days, and cloudier days with more persistent rainfall. It is likely to be windy at times, with the potential for gales, particularly in the west and southwest.
"Temperatures will vary around normal, but in any drier spells, they may be warmer than average."
So we suppose that really is the last remnants of summer done and dusted. Ah well, it was nice while it lasted...
And at least now we can start to get properly cosy and coorie into autumn.
