Glasgow University freshers greeted by real live unicorn

They don't do Freshers' Week like they used to.

Sure, it was always a show-stopping affair here in Glasgow, with the city's higher educational facilities annually bidding to outdo each other by laying on a host of fun activities, famous faces and events.

But the University of Glasgow has gone one better than the rest for 2019, by managing to secure a visit from Scotland's national amimal.

And it should come as no surprise really as, if anyone was going to bag a mythical creature, it was always going to be those clever folks at Glasgow Uni (their surroundings allegedly provided the magical inspiration for Hogwarts, after all!).

Of course, we're kidding, and this is in fact a pony from the Glasgow University Riding Club, who has had a brief make-over for the occasion, to attract some new members.

But it made our day, and that of all the Glasgow Uni freshers, we bet!

And no animals were harmed in the making of this wee bit of fun.
