Glasgow thug hunted after serious assault leaves man hospitalised

A manhunt is underway after a serious assault left one man hospitalised.

Police were called to Trongate in the early hours of Sunday morning. The alarm was raised at around 3.50am and officers found a 30-year-old man at the scene who had been seriously assaulted.

He was rushed to Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment. His current medical condition is not known at this stage.

The suspect is described as male and aged between 25 and 30 years old. He was wearing a white shirt, a black jacket, dark jeans and white trainers. Police urge witnesses, those with dashcam footage and anyone with information that could help with their probe to come forward.

Officers stressed that they can be contacted anonymously.

Detective Constable Allyson Ferguson said: “Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing and I would urge anyone with information to get in touch. We are keen to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have dashcam footage.

“Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting incident number 0732 of Sunday, 18 September, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
