A man shot in broad daylight in Glasgow has died in hospital with police now probing his murder.
John McGregor, 44, was found seriously injured on Westray Street, Milton around 7.55pm on Thursday August 26.
The father-of-five was taken to hospital in critical condition and died on the night of Saturday August 28, according to Police Scotland.
McGregor is believed to have been blasted as part of a feud between rival factions of the Daniel family.
According to sources, the shooter is a former close associate of the dead gangster Kevin ‘Gerbil’ Carroll.
It is thought that prior to the attack, he had deliberately driven a Transit van into a Mercedes car parked on Westray Street.
The suspect was then seen running back into the grey-coloured van, which reversed and drove off at speed from the area.
An eyewitness say the man's gun - believed to be a shotgun - originally jammed before firing at the second attempt in front of terrified children.
Video footage captured the shooter jogging towards a white getaway car holding what appeared to be a firearm in his hands.
The force are also looking at whether a burnt out vehicle found on the same day as the shooting might be linked to the incident.
A white Vauxhall Corsa van was set on fire on Etvie Crescent in Cumbernauld at around 9.50pm.
An eyewitness told the Daily Record that they saw forensic officers and what appeared to be a shotgun being removed from the scene.
Detective Superintendent Raymond Brown, of Police Scotland's Major Investigations Team and Senior Investigating Officer, said: "I want to appeal directly to the community and wider public who might have information that could help.
"There were people in the street at the time of the attack, including young children, and I would ask people to think about this if they have so far been reluctant to come forward. We need your help to solve this.

"I would ask anyone with information about the incident on Westray Street, or the Corsa van that was found later that night, to contact us.
"I would appeal to any motorist in either of these areas who may have dashcam footage to contact us.
"Any information, no matter how small, could be crucial. "
Detectives have also set up the Major Incident Public Portal (MIPP) which allows members of the public to send information directly to the major incident teams based at the Scottish Crime Campus.
Police can also be contacted by calling 101 and quoting incident number 3276 of Thursday, 26 August, 2021. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
