Glasgow schoolkid with rare illness shares incredible Govanhill lockdown photos

A Glasgow schoolkid with a rare illness which affects only 12 other people in the world has shared his incredible photos of Govanhill during lockdown.

Dylan Lombard has MDP syndrome - also known as mandibular dysplasia with deafness and progeroid features - which can result in deafness, tightening of the skin and a small lower jaw. The 16-year-old also lives with autism.

During the coronavirus lockdown, the Shawlands Academy student has been out and about on the streets of Govanhill, taking snaps of the people and places of the south side neighbourhood, which have been published on greatergovanhill.com.

In an interview with the community website, Dylan said: "Some people may laugh or say something to me because of how I look. I use photography to stay positive and be happy.

"I have liked taking photographs in lockdown because when there is lots of people around, I get stressed and overwhelmed by the noise and sounds around me. I like how each of photographs tells a story; some show happiness and joy and others show sadness and difficult times."
