Glasgow schoolboy rushed to hospital after being hit by bus in Castlemilk

A schoolboy was rushed to hospital after being hit by a bus in Glasgow last night.

The 14-year-old was struck on Castlemilk Drive , in the south of the city at around 6.45pm.

As a result of the incident he was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he was kept in overnight.

His injuries aren't thought to the serious and he is expected to be released later today.

Officers from Police Scotland taped off Castlemilk Road for a number of hours after a probe was launched.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "The boy was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he was kept overnight as a precaution.

"He was not seriously injured."

Two women were arrested for an alleged breach of the peace close to the incident.

Cops confirmed the arrests were not in connection with the incident where the boy was knocked over.
