A police officer has been injured confronting a man with two machetes near a school in Glasgow.
Officers responded to reports of a disturbance in Hill Street in Glasgow city centre on Friday morning.
The man was spotted walking the streets near St Aloysius' College with what were originally thought to be meat cleavers.
Parents were told to stay inside while police pursued the man.
Police have arrested the man and are investigating the incident.
"At around 8.30am police responded to reports of a disturbance on Hill Street in Glasgow," Chief Inspector Mark Sutherland from the Greater Glasgow Division said.
"A man has been arrested in connection with the incident and no members of the public are believed to have been injured.
"One officer sustained a minor injury during the arrest.
"Enquiries are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident."
There were reports the man threatened a lollipop man and tried to attack a janitor at the nearby Glasgow School of Art.
