Glasgow restaurant Le Petit Cochon is closing down after 'being hit by the worst of times'

A popular west end restaurant has announced its surprise closure, with Le Petit Cochon having served its last customers.

Owners of the much-loved French food spot took to Facebook today to announce the sad news the Radnor Street restaurant has had to shut down after 'being hit by the worst of times'.

Le Petit Cochon was often met by rave reviews and was named as one of Glasgow Live's top 50 restaurants in the city in 2020.

A post shared earlier on Facebook said: "It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that today we announce the closure of Le Petit Cochon.

"We would like to thank our wonderful customers, many who have become great friends, our amazing staff for building Le Petit Cochon with us & our fantastic suppliers.

"Unfortunately our business has been hit by the worst of times, but we have also had the best of times.

"It has been an absolute pleasure to have you all through our doors over the past few years.

"Thank you for your support & custom and we hope to see you one day again in the future."

As expected, many Glaswegians have been left gutted by the news.

One person said: "Very sorry to hear you are going. Enjoyed a few visits and your takeaway birthday dinner. Can only wish you and your team all the best for the future."

Another added: "This is sad news. Your at home meals got us through lockdown, and the igloo pudding was the prettiest ever."

A third comment summed up the feelings of many in reaction to the closure, which read: "Ah that is really bad news. What a great team and great restaurant."

Best of luck to the great team in their future ventures, we're sad to see Le Petit Cochon go!
