Glasgow police hunt suspect who threatened woman during bus stop attempted robbery

Detectives in Glasgow are appealing for information following an attempted robbery at a bus stop in the city.

The incident took place at a bus stop on Broomfield Road around 6.15pm on Saturday (February 12).

A 27-year-old woman was approached by an unknown man who demanded she hand over her mobile phone. The victim ran from the area and was shaken, but uninjured.

The suspect is described as being a man in his early 20s, around 5ft 7, of African-Caribbean ethnicity, and was wearing dark clothing.

Detective Sergeant Raymond Hunter said: “Our enquiries have established that there was at least one other woman near the bus stop when the incident took place.

“We are appealing for this woman, or any witnesses to please come forward.

“If you have information which could assist our investigation, please call police on 101, quoting incident 2810 of 12 February. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous.”
