Health workers waited in line to be tested for coronavirus at a major new drive through centre at Glasgow Airport.
They were the first of more than 1,000 NHS staff currently off work because they don't know if they have the virus.
Dozens of cars queued at what is usually a long-stay parking facility on Abbotsinch Road after the Greater and Glasgow and Clyde staff were invited for testing.
Staff in face masks an protective glasses took swabs from their mouths through car windows.
So far 760 health workers are at home because a member of their household is displaying Covid-19 symptoms.
Many more are themselves symptomatic, the Paisley Daily Express reports.
A spokeswoman for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde said: “We have now expanded our testing arrangements to enable symptomatic household contacts of staff working in priority areas to be tested for Covid-19.
“A new drive-through testing facility has already been set up with two more planned for next week to support this expanded testing.
“Where the results are negative this will allow the staff member to return to work sooner than the required 14 days of self-isolation.
“We are recruiting additional staff across a range of health professions to support our current staffing capacity to deal with the Covid-19 emergency.”
As of 9am yesterday morning, there were 3,961 positive cases of Coronavirus in Scotland - an increase of 255 from the previous day.
There are 1,599 patients in hospital, 199 of them in intensive care.
The testing facility is not open to the general public and is by appointment only.
