The nuclear scientist hails from Glasgow, but now lives in Cumbria. And the 25-year-old doesn't hide his nationality as he proudly wears his kilt in the Bake Off tent.

But on Tuesday's episode James revealed a feature of his body that inspired his creation for biscuit week. The first challenge for the 12 bakers was to create macarons, with the aim being that they don't 'look like macarons'.
James created raccoon-shaped treats, inspired by a tattoo on his leg which shows a raccoon baking. The baker was quick to whack his leg up on the counter to share the unique ink to judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith.
And Bake Off fans didn't waste time in praising the scientist's tattoo online.
One wrote: "James having a raccoon tattoo is iconic."
A second wrote: "Petition for James to base every bake on a new tattoo please."
A third fan commented: "James' tattoo is amazing."
Another added: "I think I might be in love with James after that tatt reveal."
A fifth wrote: "I now want James to win Bake Off, purely for his baking raccoon tattoo."
Another posted: "How are James' raccoon shaped macarons not called 'Raccarons'?"
While another commented: "Second week and I still adore James. Can I be his pal?"
Great British Bake Off is on Channel 4 and All 4 at 8pm on Tuesday.
