Glasgow Easter supermarket opening times: Tesco, M&S, Morrisons, Asda, Aldi, Iceland and Lidl

Easter is soon upon us!

So if you have forgotten to get the kids some Easter eggs, have no fear - the supermarkets (or at least some of them) are here.

We know how topsy-turvy things are this year with the pandemic, but the good thing is that you can still eat your weight in chocolate.

As Easter Sunday is falling on April 4 this year, we've collected all the dates and opening times of the major supermarkets.

Some of these might differ, so do make sure if you are about to go out to your local store then double check before you leave the house!

Asda opening hours

The Asda superstore in Govan will remain open for 24 hours through the holiday weekend, although it's again worth checking your local shop as times may vary.

Aldi opening hours

All Aldi stores across Scotland will remain open on Easter Sunday. All 96 Scottish stores will also remain open until 10pm on Good Friday and 10pm on Easter Saturday.

Good Friday 2^nd April: 7am – 10pm

Easter Saturday 3^rd April: 7am – 10pm

Easter Sunday 4^th April: 9am – 8pm

Easter Weekend opening hours for stores in Haddington, Erskine, Newton Stewart, Forfar, Elgin, Oban, Motherwell, Ellon, Saltcoats, Cupar, Renfrew, Strathaven, Glasgow Road in Perth, Manse Place in Airdrie, and Glenrothes:

Good Friday 2^nd April: 8am – 10pm

Easter Saturday 3^rd April: 8am – 10pm

Easter Sunday 4^th April: 9am – 7pm

Easter Monday 5^th April: 8am – 10pm

Easter Weekend opening hours for all other Aldi stores in Scotland:

Good Friday 2^nd April: 8am – 10pm

Easter Saturday 3^rd April: 8am – 10pm

Easter Sunday 4^th April: 9am – 8pm

Easter Monday 5^th April: 8am – 10pm

Lidl opening hours

Lidl stores will remain open as normal in Scotland throughout the Easter weekend, despite stores closing on Easter Sunday in England and Wales. An example of the hours are as follows:

Good Friday (April 2): 8am to 10pm

Saturday, April 3: 8am to 10pm

Easter Sunday (April 4): 8am to 10pm

Easter Monday (April 5): 8am to 10pm

It's worth checking your local store to see if hours vary, however they won't be any different to normal Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday opening hours.

Morrisons opening hours

Stores in England and Wales will close on Easter Sunday but remain open in much of Scotland. There may be reduced hours on Easter Monday, however.

For many Morrisons, the following hours apply, although it's worth checking your local store to see if there are any alterations.

Good Friday (April 2): 7am to 10pm

Saturday, April 3: 7am to 10pm

Easter Sunday (April 4): 8am to 8pm

Easter Monday (April 5): 7am to 7pm

Tesco opening hours

Tesco supermarkets will remain open in Scotland across the Easter weekend.

Good Friday (April 2): 7am to 10pm

Saturday, April 3: 7am to 10pm

Easter Sunday (April 4): 9am to 10pm

Easter Monday: 7am to 10pm

Sainsbury's opening hours

Sainsbury's stores will remain open across the weekend, but they are urging people to try shopping earlier in the week in order to keep everyone safe. They add they are expecting to be "busier than usual" this Easter.

People should check the Sainsbury's website for details on when the smaller, local stores open along with supermarket details.
