Glasgow drivers warned of delays after three-car crash forces closure of two lanes of M8 motorway

Drivers in Glasgow using the M8 are being warned to expect delays after a three-car crash on the motorway this morning.

Two lanes of the motorway are currently closed in the eastbound direction between Junctions 13 (Provan Interchange) and 14 (Blochairn Interchange) following the accident, which is believed to have occurred around 10:25am.

Traffic Scotland confirmed news of the incident, releasing a bulletin that read: "Lanes 1 and 2 are currently blocked due to a road traffic incident" while advising drivers to expect delays.

The expected duration of the delays is "unknown at present", with police and fire crews at the scene.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "We were called around 10.25am on Saturday 22 May, to reports of a three-vehicle crash on the M8 at Junction 13, east bound. Officers are still at the scene and two lanes remain closed."
