Glasgow driver charged in connection with M74 crash that forced two-lane closure of motorway

A driver has been arrested in connection with alleged road traffic offences following a two-car crash on the M74.

The crash happened on the M74 southbound at Junction 3A (Daldowie Interchange) on Friday evening (November 5) around 8pm.

Police were forced to shut two lanes of the motorway while emergency services responded to the incident, causing delays for drivers.

There are no details of any injuries to anyone travelling in either vehicle.

A 23 year-old man has been arrested and charged and is the subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal, police have confirmed.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 8.10 pm on Friday, 5 November, 2021, police were called to a two vehicle road crash southbound on the M74 J3A. No details on any injury.

"A 23 year-old man has been arrested and charged and is the subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with alleged road traffic offences."
