Glasgow cops release CCTV image after Hope Street bus attack

Police have issued a picture of a man they want to speak to following an assault aboard a Glasgow bus.

They have published a CCTV image in the wake of the attack, which took place in earlier this year. The bus was leaving Hope Street in Glasgow city centre late at night.

Police have also given a description of the suspect, who is understood to be white, aged 40 to 50, around 6ft tall and of medium build with short hair. He was wearing dark blue jeans and a khaki jacket.

A statement issued on Tuesday advised: "Police Scotland has released a CCTV image of a man they believe may have information which can assist an ongoing investigation into an assault which occurred on Saturday, April 24. The bus on which the incident occurred left Hope Street, Glasgow around 10.55pm.

"The man police believe may be able to help them is described as being white, aged 40 to 50, around 6ft tall and of medium build with short hair. He was wearing dark blue jeans and a khaki jacket."

Constable Emma Sloey said: “We are appealing for any information or for the man or anyone who recognises him to contact us by calling 101, quoting incident number 4876 of 24 April, 2021. Alternatively, information can be provided to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
