Man rushed to hospital after being assaulted in Glasgow

A man is in hospital today after being assaulted in Glasgow.

Officers from Police Scotland raced to Allander Street, on the corner of Ardoch Street, in the Possilpark area of the city on Wednesday evening.

Cops confirmed that a man was rushed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment as a result of the incident.

At around 6.30pm locals reported that a number of police vehicles had descended on the area, near the Possilpark Library.

Officers appeared to have cordoned off the area.

Enquiries are ongoing into the assault.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman told the Record: "At around 6.15pm on Wednesday, July 22 we received a report of an assault at Allander Street, Glasgow.

“A man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary Hospital for treatment.

“Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.”
