Glasgow contestant on Beat The Chasers quiz show loses out on £10k over 'mistake'

Fans of TV quiz show Beat the Chasers took to social media last night to complain after a Glasgow contestant controversially lost out on a £10k prize.

Last night's episode of The Chase spin-off show saw contestant Gordon fail to beat the quiz masters to win the cash prize - losing out with just one second remaining.

But fans have pointed out that quizzer Paul Sinha didn't appear to press his buzzer when he correctly answered a question during the quick fire round, Birmingham Live reports.

Usually, the Chaser will press the buzzer and they get the chance to answer.

As a result, he was accused by some viewers of "breaking the rules", with some claiming that his failure to press his buzzer meant that Gordon also potentially lost out on another point.

And the mistake led some viewers to say that quizzer Paul, one of five 'Chasers' used by the show, should have been disqualified - which would have seen Gordon walk away victorious.

One person took to Twitter to write: "Omg don’t know what to make about Beat The Chasers. Paul’s buzzer 100% didn’t go off?! ITV.

While a second viewer wrote: "I've just rewound and watched again - PAUL DEFFO DID NOT PRESS HIS BUZZER, the announcer never said his name - but she did in all the other chaser presses - foul play, chasers should be disqualified."

And a third who saw the mistake wrote: "Paul Never hit the buzzer for one of his answers #Beat The Chasers fix.

Sadly, Gordon went home with nothing, but another contestant named Sed bagged £40,000 during his turn.
