Glasgow commuters to face travel disruption due to roadworks on Maryhill Road next week

Commuters in the north of Glasgow are set for disruption next week due to roadworks.

Carriageway surfacing and road lining works at the junction of Maryhill Road and Hopehill Road will prompt lane closures and the use of temporary traffic lights on Maryhill Road.

There will also be no access to Hopehill Road from Maryhill Road for the duration of the works.

Glasgow City Council's Traffic Management Department (TRAFFCOM) have confirmed that the works will begin on Monday (March 21) and are expected to last for five days.

A bulletin released by TRAFFCOM read: "To allow for carriageway surfacing and road lining works at the junction of Maryhill Road and Hopehill Road a combination of Traffic Management will be required to undertake the works safely".

Diversions will be in place northbound on Maryhill Road, Hinshaw Street, Garscube Road and Grovepark Street and southbound on Maryhill Road, St Georges Place, St. Georges Road, Garscube Road and Grovepark Street.
