Glasgow comedian Janey Godley shares cancer update with fans as star 'dreads' chemo

Janey Godley told fans she "dreads" chemotherapy as she was making her way to an appointment on Wednesday morning (April 26).

The Glasgow comedian issued a health update to fans as she let her followers know that her eyelashes have fallen as she continued receiving treatment for terminal ovarian cancer.

The 62-year-old star was diagnosed with the stage three disease back in November 2021 and has been keeping fans up to date with her progress and explained it's a battle she'll have to fight for the rest of her life.

As she was heading to get chemo this morning (April 26) she opened up about "welcoming poison" into her body.

In the video, Janey said: “I'm up early for the chemo, I am getting it weekly just now hopefully that will stave off the old chronic cancer.

“Well done the Beatson, the Beatson has just been amazing. It is a bit chilly and cold, but I am looking forward to getting this over today.

“Every single week when I get chemo I dread it and then I remember this is what is actually killing the cancer, and then I welcome it.

“It’s weird to welcome a poison into your body, but I am getting there.

“Thanks to everybody who has been supporting me, and my hair is holding out, it still has not all fallen out yet.

“My eyelashes have, and my moustache is still growing which is very important. I have even a wee beard because nature you know, why the f*** would it not. Thanks everybody!”
