In recent times, the cost of living crisis has taken a toll on many people including businesses.

Taking to social media, Wild Flours East said that after six months they sadly had to close their doors as they thanked their staff and customers.

On Instagram they said: "It is with a heavy heart we announce the closing of Wild Flours East a short six months after opening its doors.

"There are many reasons that have brought us to this difficult decision. The main one being rising costs of ingredients, packaging, fuel and electricity, which are no news to anyone as we are all being affected.

"To try and absorb these in one unit is extremely difficult but to do so in two isn’t viable at all for a business with such tight margins.

"Thank you to all the wonderful, hardworking staff and our lovely customers that made our time on Duke Street enjoyable. You’ll still be able to get all your treats from the bakery! WF x."

The cafe, who are know for their gluten-free bakes, will still keep their first location, located on Kilmarnock Road, despite closing their second location.

Taking to social media to show their support, people flooded to the comment section to wish them luck with many 'sorry' to see them go.

Big Bear Bakery said: "Sorry to hear this!"

Dear Green Coffee commented: "Oh no! That’s rubbish! So sorry!"

A regular to their cafe then added: "Absolutely gutted to be reading this, I will miss my coffee from here but definitely understand the reasons."
