Glasgow Airport delays caused by service truck hitting plane fuselage

A busy plane at Glasgow airport was hit by a service truck, triggering safety fears yesterday morning.

Supposed to be travelling on the plane was one influencing star Jamie Genevieve.

The British Airways BA1483 11.50 am Glasgow to Heathrow flight was struck by the vehicle which put a dent in the fuselage, according to passengers.

Engineers were then scrambled to check the aircraft causing disruption for travellers who had to disembark the aircraft.

A passenger told The Daily Record: “The captain came on to announce to the waiting passengers before boarding that a service vehicle had bumped into the fuselage of the aircraft and put a dent in it.

“Engineers came and assessed it and we were told that the flight was cancelled. We got away eventually at about 3.30pm. It definitely wasn’t the best start to the trip.”

A spokesman for Glasgow Airport said: “A minor incident involving a BA aircraft was reported. The airport team attended, as is standard procedure, and following an inspection it was stood down.

“This resulted in a delay to the 11.50am flight to Heathrow.”
