Gladiator Wolf looks completely different appearing on Good Morning Britain

Gladiators bad boy Wolf appeared on Good Morning Britain - and viewers couldn’t get over how different he looked. When he appeared in the popular ITV show in the 1990s he had a mane of long hair - but people were struck at the changes.

He was on GMB with his son - who is keen to get a spot on the all new Gladiators reboot. The popular show is being rebooted in the coming months and Wolf’s son is keen to follow in his dad’s footsteps .

Wolf - real name Michael Van Wijk - chatted with the show’s hosts Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard about why the previous reboot by Sky didn’t work and how his son was keen to join this version.

His son appeared alongside him, and revealed he was regularly called Wolf Club growing up - and thus would make a great addition.

During the chat with hosts Ben and Kate, Wolf said he was desperate to be the ‘bad’ one of the Gladiators, but bosses weren’t keen until he suggested it. When he tried it out, he was immediately at home and it continued throughout the series.

Wolf appeared on GMB with son Dean (ITV)

Wolf appeared on the show between 1992 and 2000 and he is now 70-years-old. His son Dean is keen to follow in his footsteps and became a Gladiator too, but they’re both as competitive as one another.

“To be honest I could do all the games comfortably,” Wolf said as he opened up on the reboot, “I would also like to be like you guys and be a co presenter as well. I have never missed a show in the whole eight series."

Dean previously admitted to The Sun : “It’s a bit daunting to think about, especially because he was the number one with his character. But I’m up for it. I can’t be exactly the same as him but I will try bringing something else to the show.”

There is definitely a family resemblance! (Gladiators)

He recalled one time when he was at the Gladiator studios.

“I remember my dad taking me on the show. He made me a little Gladiator outfit. He got me on his shoulders and ran around the arena with me. I remember the crowds screaming,” he added of the moment.

Fan Simon Green said: “This was one of our favs back in the day .. sorry but it should just stay there .. loved wolf arguing the ref all the time!” Tom Neal added: “The wolf is 70! I feel so old!”
