Girl, nine, injured after wall collapses at Nottinghamshire school

A nine-year-old girl was injured when a wall fell down at a school in Sutton-in-Ashfield.

East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) and Nottinghamshire Police were called to St Mary Magdalene C of E Primary School in Springwood View Close .

The incident happened just after 12.20pm on Thursday, December 19 and is being classed as an an "industrial accident" by the police.

A spokeswoman for EMAS said: "We received a call at 12.23pm on December 19 to Sutton-In-Ashfield.

"The caller reported a medical emergency.

"We sent a Hazardous Area Response Team, a paramedic in a fast response car and an ambulance. One patient was taken to King’s Mill Hospital via ambulance."

A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said they arrived on the scene at 12.30pm.

"It was at St Mary Magdalene C of E Primary School, a wall had fallen down and a nine-year-old girl was injured. It was minor injuries."
