Girl, 2, dies at house as police open investigation into 'unexplained' incident

Police are investigating after the death of a two-year-old in a house in Falkirk, Scotland.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said the death is being treated as "unexplained" as they await the results of a post mortem.

Officers were called to an address in the Redding area at around 10.25am on Thursday, July 2, following a report of a toddler becoming unwell.

Paramedics also attended the scene, but the little girl was pronounced dead a short time later, according to the Daily Record.

Forensic officers have conducted searches of the family home and are now awaiting the results of a post mortem.

Earlier this week, Police Scotland confirmed a three-year-old boy had died, after a car mounted the pavement and crashed into a shop in Edinburgh.

A 37-year-old woman, believed to be the boy's mother, was also injured in the incident and was taken to hospital where she was being treated.

Police Scotland issued a statement confirming a three-year-old boy had died following the crash.

The statement from the force said the collision involved a red Kia motor car and two pedestrians.
