Mum-of-four who 'lived for her kids' dies suddenly at home

A mum-of-four died suddenly after her daughter was unable to wake her up.

Rebecca Elizabeth Lanson was at home in Litherland when she suffered a seizure on the landing in the early hours of April 6. The 27-year-old was found by her eldest daughter Lacey, 10, who had to make a heartbreaking phone call to her auntie, Lauren, asking her to come over.

Rebecca's dad Keith, 56, from Maghull, told the ECHO: "She got up in the middle of the night and didn't feel well. One of her little girls actually phoned my daughter. She told her 'mum had a seizure and won't wake up'."

Lauren, 32, phoned an ambulance and rushed over to Rebecca's home, where she found her unconscious. Lauren said: "My sister had messaged me at quarter to four while I was asleep. Her eldest daughter phoned me at 4am.

"She was just unconscious when I got there but she was still here. I had to make sure she was still breathing and then the paramedics took over. "

Despite the best efforts of paramedics, Rebecca was pronounced dead at home. Her body was taken to Whiston Hospital where a post mortem will be carried out to establish the cause of death.

Rebecca was described as a "fantastic" mum who "lived for her kids" (Family handout)

Lauren said Rebecca had her first seizure around two years ago but hadn't had one since then until the day she died. A Gofundme page has been set up to raise money for her funeral to "give her the send off she deserves."

Paying tribute, Keith described Rebecca, who was a mum to Lacey, 10, Lilly, seven, Layla, six, and Libby, five, as someone who "lived for her kids."

He said: "She wasn't one for clubbing or going out drinking, it was just about her and her four girls."

Keith said the family want Rebecca to be remembered for the "fantastic" mum and "bubbly, outgoing person she was."

He added: "We're just numb and devastated. Lauren was at Becca's every day. Lauren and Rebecca were really close. Me and her mum want her ashes put in Anfield [Cemetery] where my mum and dad are."
