Giovanni van Bronckhorst is on the brink of being named Rangers manager, according to a report.
Record Sport learned at the weekend that the Dutchman was Gers' first choice to replace Steven Gerrard after he joined Aston Villa.
Initial talks in London went well with the former Feyenoord boss, who spent three years at Rangers as a player.
And now Sky Sports are reporting that an agreement is "close" after the club were left impressed.
It's said they are "very pleased" with how talks are progressing and an agreement in principle could be reached soon.
An appointment could still come in time for their clash with Hibs this weekend though it remains to be seen if Van Bronckhorst would be in the dugout for Sunday's Hampden showdown.
David McCallum and Jermain Defoe are leading an interim team as talks continue over the vacant managerial position.
Van Bronckhorst won the Eredivisie with Feyenoord before his spell in China went up in smoke in the midst of the pandemic.
He has been out of work for more than a year but appears to have convinced Rangers he is the man to take them forward.
