Gilles Peterson announces new We Out Here festival for 2019

Gilles Peterson has revealed details of his first ever UK music festival.

We Out Here, which will run from August 15-18 in an undisclosed Cambridgeshire location, promises a line up that spans from jazz to techno, bringing together “global legends and trailblazers”.

It will be the third festival from DJ and label head Peterson, who also organises the Worldwide Festivals in France and Switzerland.

This UK addition is named after the We Out Here compilation album, released by Peterson’s record label Brownswood in February 2018, which featured the likes of Shabaka Hutchings, Moses Boyd and Nubya Garcia.

Speaking about the new festival, Peterson said: “What’s amazing about the scene here is that there’s so much legacy as well so much future. It really is about bringing all that together on one amazing site.”

The full line-up, as well as the exact location the festival site, will be announced on February 6.

Early bird tickets will be available via the mailing list, which can be signed up for at weoutherefestival.com. Full price tickets will go on-sale as soon as the line-up and festival location have been announced.
