Giants vs. Eagles: Week 16 staff picks and predictions

The New York Giants (5-9) will take on the Philadelphia Eagles (10-4) this Monday afternoon at Lincoln Financial Field in their 15th game of the 2023 regular season.

Opening the week, the Giants were 10.5-point road underdogs and the spread has gotten significantly worse since then with New York at +13.5 as of this writing.

How does the Giants Wire staff see this Week 16 battle shaking out? Here’s a look at our picks and score predictions:

Mike DiNovo-USA TODAY Sports

There will be no Christmas miracle for the Giants this year, and that means the string of Eagles dominance will continue.

Philadelphia is coming in losers of three straight and the Giants represent a get-right game. They’ll be treating this like a playoff contest in from of their home fans because, for Philly, it is.

Unfortunately for Big Blue, this one won’t be close.

Even with the Eagles crumbling as of late, they are still too much for the Giants. Big Blue can’t protect Tommy DeVito and can’t seem to defend wide receivers deep. Those are two areas where the Eagles have tailed off a bit this year but — again — they don’t have to be league-class like they were last year to eke out a win here at home.

Sorry, Giants fans. There will be no Christmas miracle in this one.

This game has mismatch written all over it. The Eagles are going to come in motivated to make a statement at home, snap their three game winning streak and prove they are still a contender in the NFC. The Giants will be overmatched in this game in all facets and I’m not expecting this game to be close.

This one could get out of hand in a hurry.

It’s that time of year when we start focusing on the offseason. It’s been a fun ride with Tommy DeVito under center, and the Giants will have some success throwing the ball against Philly’s susceptible secondary, but there’s simply too much firepower for Philly to work with.

Jeevan Kirkland: Eagles 34, Giants 13

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

The Eagles are on a three-game skid and have the perfect chance for a bounce-back game. From top to bottom, they are simply a better team than the Giants. The biggest difference comes at the quarterback and offensive line where the Eagles have All-Pro players and the Giants have players that would not start on most rosters.

Unfortunately for Big Blue, Philadelphia’s defensive line is elite and should be able to feast against a suspect Giants interior offensive line.

For Giants fans, this game will likely be like some coal in your stocking.

This game is intriguing for me because the Eagles have lost three in a row. The Giants are unpredictable, though, and you never know which team is going to show up. As much as I think the Giants are capable of pulling off a win in Philly, this game has little meaning for Big Blue and a lot of meaning for the Eagles. Jalen Hurts will turn his team around at home and come away with the win.
