Giants’ Super Bowl LIV odds plummet after Odell Beckham trade

The New York Giants had seen their Super Bowl LIV odds hover around the respectable range in recent weeks, but after trading wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to the Cleveland Browns on Tuesday, those odds plummeted.

Bet Online had the Giants with 50/1 odds to win the Super Bowl next season, but due Beckham’s departure, they dropped to 80/1 on Wednesday.

The Browns, meanwhile, saw their already strong 16/1 odds improve to 12/1 after acquiring both Beckham and linebacker Olivier Vernon.

The New York Jets were also given improved odds after signing running back Le’Veon Bell, going from 100/1 to 50/1.

Returning to the Super Bowl feels as if it’s a long way off for the Giants, especially now that they’re without their most productive player of the last five years and hinging their immediate future on a 38-year-old quarterback.

If the Giants weren’t officially in a rebuild before, they most certainly are now and it’s unlikely to conclude with a Super Bowl LIV victory.
