New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley was among a group of NFL stars, also including wide receiver Sterling Shepard and ex-Giant Odell Beckham Jr., who collaborated on a powerful video demanding the NFL step up and not only “condemn racism,” but acknowledge they won’t punish protesters who kneel during the National Anthem during the 2020 season.
The video opens with a series of questions: “How many times do we need to ask you to listen to your players? What will it take? For one of us to be murdered by police brutality?” And, “what if I was George Floyd?”
Following the questions, the NFL stars begin to list names of African Americans who have been killed in recent years.

Previously, Barkley had posted a photoshopped image of himself adorned in a black t-shirt that read, “I can’t breathe.”
In addition to Barkley, retired Giants legend and Pro Football Hall of Famer, Michael Strahan, also posted a video of his own.
The videos, activism and calls for justice come after an African American man, George Floyd, died in Minneapolis police custody last week.
