Giants injury report: Cody Latimer joins list of walking wounded

The New York Giants returned to the practice field on Thursday hoping that wide receiver Sterling Shepard (concussion) would join them, but those hopes fell flat. While Shepard has made some improvement this week, he remains in league protocol.

Predictably, Shepard was joined by rookie wide receiver Darius Slayton (groin/hamstring), who continues to take a slow approach to his return.

Additionally, the Giants saw a another hit to the wide receiver unit as veteran Cody Latimer was also sidelined during the media portion of practice, finding himself relegated to side work with trainers.

If all three are unable to go on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills, Bennie Fowler, Russell Shepard and TJ Jones will round out the unit.

In the mean time, here’s a look at the Giants’ official Thursday injury report:

Did not practice: WR Cody Latimer (calf), WR Sterling Shepard (concussion), WR Darius Slayton (hamstring), TE Garrett Dickerson (quad)

Limited participation: DL Dexter Lawrence (shoulder)

Full participation: G Kevin Zeitler (shoulder), LB Markus Golden (hip)
