The New York Giants are just 2-5 on the season and should consider selling at the NFL trade deadline on October 31, but general manager Joe Schoen seems prepared to take a different approach.
Multiple reports surfaced over the weekend suggesting that the Giants may stand pat at the deadline — at least when it comes to running back Saquon Barkley.
The New York Giants are not expected to move Saquon Barkley before the NFL trade deadline, per sources.

Barkley was asked about a potential trade late last week and he made it abundantly clear that his preference is to remain in East Rutherford.
“No, it never crossed my mind,” he said. “Obviously, I’ve been public and vocal about how I feel about this organization and where I want to be.
“But like I said, knowing the business and seeing that side of it, there are a lot of things that I can’t control. Sitting here, everyone knows how I feel. Everyone knows I don’t want to get traded. I don’t think anybody in their right mind would want to get traded anywhere. It’s not an easy thing to do, you’ve got to move, I have a family. I would love to be here but like I said, it’s not in my control. My focus is to be the leader I can be for this team to try to get this thing on the right track.”
In addition to the reporting by Dianna Russini, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo also reported that the Giants intend to keep Barkley around.
“Saquon Barkley said the other day that he doesn’t want to be traded,” Garafolo said. “Saquon, I have great news for you. The team doesn’t intend to trade you.
“In fact, when they heard Barkley was asked about it, they were kind of like, ‘Why are they even asking him about that? We have no intentions of trading him before the trade deadline.'”
Garafolo added that the Giants remain hopeful to sign Barkley to a long-term deal at some point after the season.
