Giants’ Daniel Jones will undergo ACL surgery in New York on Wednesday

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones will undergo ACL surgery on Wednesday in New York, presumably at the Hospital for Special Surgery.

The 26-year-old gave the update Tuesday during an appearance on Up & Adams with Kay Adams.

“Been rehabbing and getting ready for surgery. Doing surgery up here tomorrow,” Jones said. “It’s the best time for it. Got a lot of football to watch while I am laid up.”

Jones, who suffered the torn ACL in Week 9 against the Las Vegas Raiders, said the expected recovery timetable is eight to 10 months.

“It’s about eight- to nine- to 10-month recovery period,” he said. “We’ll attack that, approach that and work on that day-by-day. Try to get back as fast as I can.”

The surgery will come 17 days after the injury, which is more than the 10 days it took Joe Burrow to undergo his ACL/MCL surgery in 2020 and fewer than the 22 days it took Kyler Murray to undergo the a similar procedure last year.

If the operation goes off without a hitch, Jones could return as early as July or as late as September. That could put him in line to start Week 1 next season.

Jones signed a four-year, $160 million deal this past offseason but was limited this year, dealing first with a neck injury before the knee injury.
