Giants activate LB/S Landon Collins to play against the Commanders

The Washington Commanders will welcome an old friend back to FedEx Field Sunday night. The New York Giants activated Landon “don’t call me a linebacker” Collins from the practice squad for the huge NFC East battle.

Collins, who spent the first four seasons of his NFL career with the Giants, signed a then-record a six-year, $84 million contract with Washington in March 2019.

Collins would spend the next three seasons with Washington and was released in the offseason in a salary-cap move. Collins played in 35 games for Washington, registering 239 tackles, six sacks and three interceptions.

After struggling at safety, Washington moved Collins closer to the line of scrimmage last season, where he thrived before finishing the year on injured reserve. Collins initially bristled at the move but later embraced the change.

It’s Collins’ third activation from the practice squad this season. He has appeared in two games [Weeks 7 & 8].
