Giannis Antetokounmpo Half-Heartedly ‘Roasts’ Fellow NBA Stars

Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo joined The Daily Show on Monday night, and host Hasan Minhaj gave the NBA champion a chance to roast some of his fellow NBA stars.

However, the “Greek Freak” struggled to put some real firepower behind his comments.

First, he attempted to target Mavericks star Luka Dončić.

“Listen, Luka,” Antetokounmpo said as he was quickly met with laughter from the audience. “Even though you’re running with Kyrie [Irving], and you have him on your team, I’m coming for you guys.”

But, Antetokounmpo didn’t feel like he could finish the roast on Dončić, so Minhaj took over by saying the Mavericks star has “sausage arms,” for example.

Next on the list was two-time reigning NBA MVP Nikola Jokić

“Joker, how are you going to make it through the Finals when you look like you can barely make it through a Burger King drive-thru,” Antetokounmpo said.

The Bucks star wasn’t too thrilled with this “trash talk” line. He then started to make up for it by saying “Jokić, I love your game.”

Finally, it was time for a roast of Kevin Durant.

“You keep joining super teams to win NBA titles,” Antetokounmpo said. “How about we work out together sometime so I can teach you how to carry your own team?”

Once again, Antetokounmpo wanted to clear the air with his thoughts on Durant, as he admitted the new Suns player was his favorite player growing up.

“KD, you’re one of the best scorers who’ve ever played this game,” Antetokounmpo said. “I respect your game.”

Needless to say, Minhaj wasn’t too thrilled with Antetokounmpo’s half-hearted roasts of his fellow players. Apparently, the forward prefers to leave all his trash-talking on the court.
