'Get on with it' - Simon Jordan sends Nottingham Forest instruction amid Steve Cooper doubts

Former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan has told Nottingham Forest to "get on with" sacking head coach Steve Cooper, if that is what they want to do.

Jordan has taken issue with reports about the futures of Cooper and other staff members at the club. There has also been talk of Lee Charnley and Rafa Benitez coming into the club, but talkSPORT pundit Jordan wants Forest to make a decision and stick with it.

Charnley was spotted at a Forest game back in August and the former Newcastle United chief executive worked with Benitez during their time at St James' Park. Jordan, meanwhile, thinks the Benitez talk may have come about because of Charnley, who is reportedly in a 'senior role' at the Reds according to the Telegraph, and reckons Forest should not err if they want to sack Cooper.

Jordan said on talkSPORT: "Lee Charnley is hanging around, there's the link to Rafa Benitez in play there because of that relationship."

He added: "I'm never in the camp of talking about respect, but if you want to fire Steve Cooper, just fire him. Get on with it and fire him. Live with the consequences of a precipitous decision.

"You can simply say 'not for me, I'm not having you guys, out you go' - and everyone can deal with the after effects."
