Gerwyn Price reckons he would be a five-times world champion if darts tournaments were played in the kitchen where he practises.
On Saturday he can put his theory to the test in the PDC Home Tour – as long as his daughters stay offline and don't use all the broadband width in Wales.
World No.3 Price faces Ted Evetts, Luke Woodhouse and Rowby-John Rodriguez on the second night of the competition where top players take on each other live from the comfort of their own homes, streamed online by the magic of wifi.
The 'Iceman' is looking forward to the near-unique experience of not being booed, and he said: “If I could play the World Championship in my kitchen, I think I would have won it five years on the bounce.
“It’s probably the only time that I’m not going to be booed when I play live in front of fans.
“The wife and kids aren’t even allowed in the room and I've told them not to use much of the internet - it’s just going to be in my kitchen and the dartboard.
“It’s just best of nine, 15 or 20 minutes per match. I’m basically only going to be playing an hour, but I’m going to be unpopular.
“I spoke to my youngest daughter yesterday and told her she can’t go on YouTube for three hours. She wasn’t happy, I can tell you!
“She’ll probably be shouting down the stairs for me to hurry up and win so she can watch her phone again!”
The PDC hope all 128 Tour card holders will participate in the Home Tour, for a £500 appearance fee, over 32 nights initially before the second phase.
Chairman Barry Hearn said: "It is going to be fun, it is not going to be perfect. But what you will see is real, competitive sport."
