Gerry McAnaney has been elected as the new president of the FAI and will take over from the outgoing Donal Conway.
McAnaney was comfortably elected, taking 88 of the 130 votes at an FAI EGM in Blanchardstown this afternoon.
His opponent Martin Heraghty, who has been chairman of Sligo Rovers for four years and is a new face on the FAI board after being appointed last July, won 40 votes with just two votes spoiled.
McEnaney represented Football For All on the FAI National Council, having previously been the Defence Forces representative to the council. He also previously served on the FAI's board of management.
McAnaney lost out to Paul Cooke in the association's vice-presidential election last summer.
