Georgia set to face Dayton in powerhouse-filled Maui Invitational

Georgia basketball season is several months away from starting non-conference play, but the Dawgs non-conference schedule is set. The Bulldogs open up in the prestigious Maui Invitational tournament. Anthony Edwards and co. will be immediately put to the test based on the bracket:

Win or lose, Georgia will face another quality opponent in the second game after opening vs. Dayton. Michigan State, one of UGA’s potential second round opponents made the Final Four last season. Viriginia Tech, the other possible opponent for Georgia made the Sweet Sixteen last season, and although they lose most of their production from that team, the Hokies are a big-time ACC basketball program.

Kansas and Michigan State will start next season in the top five and Georgia will have to play above it’s experience level to win it all in Maui. Georgia’s recruiting class is in the top ten in the nation, but the Dawgs don’t return much talent from last season.
