Georgia basketball player in transfer portal commits to new school

The Georgia men’s basketball team lost another player on Monday who had already entered his name into the transfer portal.

Teshaun Hightower, a three-star guard out of Mt. Zion Prep School, announced his commitment to a new school on Twitter.

The Maryland native will head further south to the Bayou and join the Tulane Green Wave for the upcoming season.

Hightower played two seasons in Athens, averaging 5.1 points over the course of 58 games, though he did not score since February 12th at Texas A&M after a decrease in minutes.

Now, the Bulldogs have two scholarship spots available from the departures of Hightower and JoJo Toppin, who went to Georgia State just one week ago.

With Nic Claxton’s name in the NBA Draft and Ignas Sargiunas also in the transfer portal, Coach Tom Crean is likely to have even more space on the roster.

We wish Hightower the best in his basketball future at Tulane
