George's best friend is another royal child but Charlotte's is an adult expert claims

Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis appear to all be very close with one another as they share the same royal experiences very few children in the world will ever know.

Of course they also have their own friends at Lambrook School who they can learn and play with like regular kids giving them a small taste of what non-royal life is like.

However, they do also seem to have their own 'best friends' within the royal family as body language specialist Judi James told the Express who she believes Prince George and Princess Charlotte are closest to out of their relatives.

According to the expert, the nine year old prince's best friend is another royal child while Charlotte's is an adult.

Ms James claims that George has one special friend in the family who keeps things fun for him despite his royal role and destiny as the heir to the throne.

She explained: “As heir to the throne George is under the most pressure of all the Queen’s great-grandchildren to learn and perform the etiquette and protocol of public royal events and with his parents and even his sister Charlotte on hand to provide coaching and the odd nudge he is quickly growing into his role.

“There is one royal though who seems able to ensure the fun-factor is still present and that he is enjoying himself as he learns to cope.”

That royal is George's older cousin, Savannah Philips who is the granddaughter of Princess Anne and the oldest of her generation of royal children at 12 years old.

According to Ms James, Savannah “always looks super-popular, confident and playful” and George seems to gravitate towards her.

She added that he has a “certain amount of hero-worship” for her and never fails to smile in her presence whether it's on the royal balcony or the Platinum Pageant.

One refreshing thing about Savannah is she “has no sense of royal hierarchy when it comes to George” and plays with her younger cousin like normal children do, having once been pictured “pushing the future King down a grassy hill”.

However, in terms of Charlotte, her closest friendship is not with another child but with her own mother the expert claims.

She explained: “As Charlotte gets older there are some clear signs of not just mother-daughter bonding with Kate but also friendship signals, too.

“It’s not unusual for a mother and her daughter to describe themselves as friends or even enjoy being ‘best friends’ but where Kate and Charlotte are concerned that specific bond might be more necessary than it is for others.

"Being a top-tier royal can be an isolating experience and we all saw how much the late Queen always cherished the unique equality of her mother-daughter bond with Princess Anne.”

With Charlotte still being very young at just eight-years-old, Kate is currently more of a "mentor" to her daughter than a pal but the little Princess is already mirroring her mother when it comes to “keeping her brothers in check”.

This “hints that Charlotte will become a source of companionship and support for Kate in the Firm” as she grows up.

One instance where their strong mother and bond was clearly visible was during the Platinum Pageant when Kate and Charlotte were spotted chatting and “enjoying the event equally and probably more because they were there together”.

According to Judi, Princess Charlotte is also very close with another much older royal who she shares a "special affection" with.
