George Clooney joined Bob Geldof to tour a homeless charity’s prototype village in Scotland ahead of a fundraising dinner.

The Hollywood A-lister is in Scotland for two events to raise money for Social Bite, the Edinburgh-based charity which aims to pioneer new approaches to helping homeless people access housing, food and jobs.

Crowds gathered around Clooney when he visited Social Bite’s cafe in the city in November 2015.

During his return to Scotland this week, the Gravity star attended a fundraising dinner at the Gleneagles Hotel on Wednesday, where he discussed his Hollywood career as well as his humanitarian work.

On Thursday evening, he will be at the British Business Awards in Edinburgh, which aims to raise a minimum of £1 million for Social Bite.

The charity posted about Clooney’s visit to its prototype village which provides housing for homeless people in small, sustainable homes.

The first Social Bite Village was launched in 2018, as an alternative to temporary accommodation for the homeless.

In an Instagram post, Social Bite shared images of the charity’s founder John Littlejohn with Clooney and Geldof.

The charity said: “George Clooney, prior to his address at the 4th annual Gleneagles Gala Dinner for Social Bite, checking out one of the prototype homes from the new Social Bite Village with the charity’s founder, Josh Littlejohn and Sir Bob Geldof.”
