‘Genshin Impact’ Update 1.4 Release Date And What You Need To Know: Windblume Festival, Venti, Hangouts And More

The Lantern Rite has been done for some time, but one supposes its the season of celebration not just in Liyue, but in Mondstadt as well. Genshin Impact 1.4 is nearly here, and it revolves around the Windblume Festival in everyone’s favorite city of freedom, something Kaeya briefly alluded to during the Lantern Rite. As seems to be the way with the prolific MiHoYo, it’s looking like another

Genshin Impact 1.4 releases March 17 on PC, PS4 and mobile. In addition, players on mobile and PC can start preloading this evening, March 14, at 11:00 PM Eastern. These updates have not been gigantic in the past, but it’s always nice to be able to get ahead of things.

The Windblume Festival is the headline event, celebrating wine and song for anyone that’s managed to reach Adventure Rank 20 and completed the Archon Quest “Song of Dragon and Freedom”. It’s a sort of spring festival of flowers and romance, stacked with mini games revolving around archery and gliding with myriad upgrade rewards. There’s also a more combat-oriented part of the event that revolves around the Peculiar Wonderland, a series of random combat challenges that reward weapon ascension materials and a new 4-star bow, the Windblume Ode,

The Windblume Ode sounds thematically geared towards Venti, who’s returning to banners at the beginning of the event, followed by Childe. We’re also getting one new hero in the form of Rosaria, a 4-star Cryo Polearm user that’s popped up in the story a few times already.

Alongside the romance theme, we’re also getting a series of hangout quests, which seem like they’re a little more actively engaged in the whole shipping thing than usual. We’ll get to play out some branching narrative-style adventures with multiple endings themed around some heroes hanging out together.

Lastly, we’ve got some more story action coming our way, as we poke a little further into the cliffhanger Dansleif left us on before. We’ll get a new domain that features a new enemy called an Abyss Herald.

Aside from that, there are a few quality of life improvements, including the ability to hold five condensed resin and the ability to lower your world level. It all gets going soon, so check back in when the event begins.
