Gennaro Gattuso has left Fiorentina just 23 days after he was officially announced as their new manager.
Fiorentina appointed the 43-year-old on May 25, just two days after he left Napoli following their failure to qualify for next season's Champions League.
At the time, Fiorentina's president Rocco Commisso said he was "convinced" that Gattusso was the right man to lead the club going forward.
He said: "I’m very happy to be able to announce to the Viola fans that Gennaro Gattuso will be the next Fiorentina coach.
"I’m convinced that Gattuso – who is a young coach but already has lots of experience – will help us to progress.

"His professional and personal background shows that he will bring determination, competence and desire to our club.
"He will help us in our growth and his professional and human history represent for the club an important guarantee of determination, competence and desire to win.
"I would like to thank the senior management team for their hard work in completing such an important appointment for the future of our club within days of the season finishing."
Gattuso was set to officially take charge on July 1 ahead of the new Serie A campaign and he had been in discussions with the club's hierarchy about their transfer plans.
However, according to Sky Sport Italia, Gattuso and Commisso had a falling out over their plans, with Gattusso and his agent Jorge Mendes proposing several transfer targets.
The report names Porto midfielder Sergio Oliveira and Valencia forward Goncalo Guedes as names proposed by Mendes, with the pair both managed by his Gestifute agency.

However, Fiorentina were unwilling to invest in the targets recommended by Mendes, with Commisso preferring 'more contained investments'.
The Serie A side also look set to miss out on Stuttgart striker Nicolas Gonzalez, who is said to be closing in on a £25m move to Brighton.
Franck Ribery's future is also yet to be sorted, with the veteran winger's contract due to expire at the end of the month.
Fiorentina confirmed Gattuso's departure with a short statement that read: "ACF Fiorentina and Mister Rino Gattuso, by mutual agreement, have decided not to follow up on the previous agreements and therefore not to start the next football season together.
"The Company immediately set to work to identify a technical choice that will guide the Viola team towards the results that Fiorentina and the City of Florence deserve."
Several potential successors have already been mooted, including former boss Claudio Ranieri and ex-Lyon manager Rudi Garcia.
