Gemma Owen's mum eyed up for Real Housewives of Cheshire as 'ITV hoping to sign her'

Gemma Owen's mum is reportedly being eyed up by ITV bosses to join the cast of The Real Housewives of Cheshire.

The 19-year-old Love Island star is the daughter of former footballer Michael Owen and Louise Bonsall – who is reportedly desired for TV fame by ITV.

It looks like the Owen family are in high demand.

The producers of The Real Housewives of Cheshire have reportedly attempted to bring in Louise but have failed so far.

A source explained to MailOnline : "Gemma's success and popularity on Love Island is driving this.

"Louise is a pretty private person so has always resisted any offers in the past to let the ITV cameras into her world.

"But Michael has a TV career and Gemma is about to start her own so it's left Louise considering making that step, too."

According to the source, ITV are 'hoping they can pull it off'.

The Real Housewives of Cheshire is a reality show which follows the lives of rich women across the North West. It has been airing on ITVBe since 2015.

Mirror have contacted ITV for comment.

Louise and Michael welcomed Gemma into the world in 2003, with the couple tying the knot two years later.

In 2006, they had a son named James Michael. Their third child, Emily May, was born in October 2007.

Jessica, their fourth child, was born in 2010.

Meanwhile, it was recently reported that Gemma – who has been a fan favourite on Love Island – was offered a slot in a new reality show, expected to take place following her time in the villa.

It was said she was offered the chance to appear in a new reality show, which will "expose the world of footballers' daughters".

Michael's daughter Gemma shared her hopes to follow in the footsteps of her icon Kylie Jenner before heading into the villa, and now it appears she may be following in the footsteps of the former Keeping Up With The Kardashians star with a reality show.

A source told new! magazine of the new programme: "It will follow their everyday lives and dramas, giving viewers insight into what it's really like for young girls in the spotlight of their famous fathers.

"There's no denying Love Island has been the Gemma Show this year, and it's not surprising the production companies are desperate to capitalise on that."
